Gawai & Kaamatan Festival is a celebration that is celebrated by the people of Sarawak and Sabah, mainly the Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu community. It is a celebration of thanksgiving after the harvest of rice.
This year, which is the third time in Penang, Gawai and Kaamatan Festival will be held on 15 May 2016, Sunday, starting at 6:00pm at Fort Cornwallis, Georgetown. The event will be officiated by the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Lim Guan Eng.
