Bert Lim came to fetch me from my house and off we went to Penang Swimming Club. We were supposed to meet up with Mr CJ Ling at 2.00 pm. We went in to park and waited at the new wing lobby. However, CJ’s talk was slightly lengthy and he had just finished the talk at 2.00 pm only. We waited till 3.00 pm as the serving of the foods was slow. Anyway, we talked and caught up with Bert on the latest happening at DKSH. We met CJ finally and went off to Straits Quay as he shall be catching his flight back to KL in the evening. We had coffee at the Dome and chatted till it was time for them to leave for the airport.

Mr Michael Goh is an old colleague of mine since my old Diethelm Malaysia Sdn Bhd days stretching some 25 years back to late 1970’s and 1980’s. The Swiss multi-national company (MNC) was known as Diethelm with her then current Dr Mark Diethelm who was borned in Pangkor Road, Penang when his father was serving as a cadet manager in Penang. The address is now that of the Triple Wisdom Temple, Penang. During that year when Michael joined us from Warner Lambert and Parke Davis Companies, Diethelm was on her way to become the a large trading company in Malaysia. That year we also recruited a significant number of staff for the Penang Branch of which I was the Area Sales Manager then. Diethelm Malaysia Sdn Bhd has transformed from a small branch of 10 personnel at Pulau Tikus, Penang to 50 persons in a span of a few years. The name was change to Diethelm Keller when the Diethelm family sold their shares to Hong Kong-based Edward Keller Company – the Kellers are related to the Diethelms. Currently this MNC is known as DKSH after another synergistic mega-merger with Siber-Higner, another Swiss congolermerate based in Japan. Back to Mr Michael Goh is my colleague back these 25 years or so. He is a diligent, honest worker and usually speak with a slangish English tongue, that is why we remained friend till today. He has a happy family with a daugther and a son with 6 grandchildren. His past past-time during Sundays, was the polishing of his car. We saw his red Toyota was so well polished there is no single speck of dust on it. It is great to know you, Michael.
