Ex-Sandilands Staff Get-Together Dinner 2016   2 comments

Tonight ( Saturday, 26 November, 2016 ) was the Ex-Sandilands Staff Get-Together Dinner at Equatorial Hotel, Penang. We were late as the traffic was very heavy from town especially from my area in Pulau Tikus as even coming out from my house was time-consuming. Sandilands Buttery was the first Multi-National Company (MNC) that I joined after my pupillage at the Penang General Hospital. I am a pharmacist by profession. I must thank Mr Yeoh Ng Khong, a fellow pharmacist, for recruited me to this British company which was affiliated to the AMC Group of Companies like Straits Trading Company aka Dato Keramat Smelting Company along Dato Kramat Road now where Penang Times Square stands. He left for our Ipoh Branch Office as the Branch Manager after I joined the Penang Office. I was also very happy to meet Madam Quah Lay Choo, also a pharmacist who was based in our Head Office in Petaling Jaya during my my three years’ stint with this company which I left quite reluctantly. Then , I joined Diethelm Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. after being interviewed by Mr Yap Mok Fui who joined ┬áJardine Sandilands later a year later.

We must thank Mr Yeoh Jin Hoe for sponsoring this dinner for nearly 40 guests. As usual I am the self-appointed unpaid photographer for the night.

We really enjoyed the night.

I had to add this comment from Facebook by Annie Boon on my post. Thank you, Annie.

Annie Boon Proud to say this is the only company where employees, separated through retrenchment, make it a point to get together every year at least once. This is possible due to the untiring effort of one female colleague who took great pains to gather us together wherever we are. We are indeed fortunate to have her and may God bless us with good health and longevity.”

I learnt three valuable lessons from taking these photographs. Firstly, as I was attending a wedding dinner, these photos were in a haste. Devote sufficient time to take photographs carefully. Secondly, no tripod was used as it is very essential as the sun is going down and light is getting dimmer at dusk. Thirdly, I used JPEG instead of RAW so I could erase off the noise in the photos. Lessons learnt.

Yes, finally my perseverance has paid off, as this is the third attempt to upload the rest of the photos. I was wondering whether it is my internet provider or my CPU as it took 7 to 8 minutes to upload a single photo.
