Fishing Village of Sungai Batu ( River of Stones )   Leave a comment

These were the photographs which I had taken from the shore, during the Photographic Society of Penang’s Photo Outing at the Sungai Batu, near to Bayan Lepas Airport, Penang. The weather was not good as a rain storm was approaching from the south. The sky was overcast with dark rain clouds so sunset is definitely ruled out.

Of fishing boats, sampans, motor-boats and angling   Leave a comment

Of fishing boats, sampans, motor-boats and angling is a series of photographs which I took of the small wooden fishing boats known as sampans. There are also better boats for hire by these fishermen who will drop an angler off at certain places like rocky outcrop at Pulau Jerejak – an island nearby, At certain time in the evening they shall come and pick the angler up after a day of angling or fishing. A small fee is charged. In some cases for a bigger fee, the whole boat is chartered by a group of anglers thus they can fish from the boat itself. If there are no fishes, the boat can be moved to another fishing spot. Two photographs showed the various shots of the catches of the day by some anglers in the series. Happy angling.
