Penang Hill Steamboat Dinner ~ Part 5 – Steamboat Dinner starts

This was the April’s Classmates Penang Lang gathering. Instead of luncheon, we decided on a Steamboat Dinner with the participation of spouses and partners at Penang Hill. A total of 27 participants were recorded and we had also six participants from a classmate’s family joining in. The steamboat dinner is reasonably delicious and we had a great time on the Hill.

The April “Penang lang” lunch was organised by Taikor at the Bellevue
Hotel (in French “beautiful view” Hotel) as a steamboat dinner. From
beginning to end, Taikor took care of every details, and we all
enjoyed the evening without any hitch.
Besides the usual Penang lang’s, hose who were in Penang then were
lucky to take part: Li Li and Hun Soon from KL, Mubarak from P.
Dickson, James Wong from Sg and myself from France. The unlucky ones
left a few days before this event and could not attend: Hoon Eng from
    Sg, Hock Chark from KT.
We were graced with the presence of the beautiful partners of some of
    our classmates.
Together with the family of Beng Tatt, we filled up 3 tables
So, up we went by the cable car, packed with tourists. It was still
light as we chatted in the cool atmosphere up there in the garden of
    Bellevue.
As dusk set in, we settled down as the lights of Penang went on.
Soon, with everybody in, we dug into a wondersfull steamboat.
As the evening drew to an end, some group photos eternalised this
    great evening together.
    Thank you, Taikor!

After the waiting period, we started to walk to the Bellevue Penang Hill Hotel for our Steamboat Dinner. It was a short 5-minutes walk from the Station. A small hotel owned by Dato Lim Chong Keat, a brother of the late Chief Minister of Penang, Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu.

This is the November 2017 Monthly Luncheon of the Old Frees Penang Lang Group at the Starview Restaurant, Dato Kramat Road, Penang on Saturday, Nov 4, 2017. Twelve ex=classmates from Class of 1964 to 1970 Penang Free School attended this gathering. Food was good with fish steam-boat and Chinese Cantonese dishes. Tonight after midnight, there was the great floods in Penang in 60 years. In actual fact the restaurant was flooded up to the flooring of restaurant later that afternoon after our lunch.

November Luncheon of Old Frees Classmates

The 4th November, 2017 is an eventful day in Penang with Floods taking the headlines … It started off with our Penang Free School boys having November Luncheon at Starview. We are discussing on our former classmate Tan Hock Eang at the Oval Office with President Trump. The Starview Restaurant was closed in the afternoon as the main road was flooded.
