Night of the Penang Wesak Eve 2018
Today – the 28th May, 2018 is the Wesak Eve in Penang. The Year of 2018 is the Chinese Lunar Year of the Dog. On Wesak Day a big procession shall be held in Penang going around 7 km in the George Town streets with participation of over 5,000 people. Tonight the Celebrations continued with the Lamp Lighting Ceremony at 7.00 pm and followed by the Prayers Ceremony at the MBA Buddha Float. This was followed by presentation of certificates for Blood Donation and a Cultural Show and Singing. It was a delightful evening but marred by heavy rains at 10.00 pm.
